How do I share with teams and individuals?
You can share any course with teams and individuals.
After selecting the desired course for sharing, click on the "Share" button to initiate the share. This will allow you to search for and choose which users and/or teams you wish to share the course. Once you share, all of the users selected (users who are members today in the selected teams) will see shared content on their homepage and receive individual email notifications.
Select a combination of teams and individuals to share with, and include a personalized note to set an expectation of a due date or point out certain lessons in the course that you want employees to focus on.
🗒️: If a member is removed from a team, the course remains shared with them. See how to unshare a course. If users are added to a team that you shared a course with, they will not get the shared course automatically. You can reshare the course with the team (and everyone will receive an email notification with the new personalized message) or separately share with those new individuals
🗒️: If you share a course with your entire organization, email notifications are not sent.
What do users experience when a course is shared with them?
Users will receive an email notification within 24 hours when a course is shared with them. Users will only receive one notification per day (24 hour period). If a user has not started watching the course within 10 days, a reminder email will be sent to them.
Users will also receive a mobile push notification if they haven’t opened the email within 4 hours. The push will only be sent if they have the mobile app and push notifications turned on.
Users will see shared courses highlighted on their homepage when they log into MasterClass at Work.
Users will also see a "Shared With You" message on the overview page of any course that’s been shared with them.
🗒️: If users haven’t started watching the course within two weeks of being shared, they will receive one email reminder. If the course is shared with the entire organization, users will receive no notifications or reminders.
How do I view the list of all shared content in my organization?
On the Shared Content page within the Admin Dashboard, you can view content shared by all admins in your organization depending on your Admin access.
- All Access admins for the organization can view all shared courses that have been shared by any admin.
- Performance Admins or Management Admins (team admins) can only view content shared to the teams that they have permissions over.
- Note that Management Admins will not be able to view course progress or analytics for any members.
Who can share content?
Content can be shared by various people at your organization. Who they can share to will depend on the role they are assigned in your MasterClass at Work instance.

- Workspace Admin / Sub-Admins (All Access)
- Can share to:
- Any team in their sub-org (workspace)

How do I unshare content?
You can unshare content on the Course Progress page.
- Select the course that was previously shared.
- Turn on the toggle “Only view progress for members who were shared this class.”
- Click the 3 dots next to the name of the user and select Unshare
- A box prompt will appear and you will have the option to either Cancel or Unshare Course
After clicking Unshare Course, you will know you’ve successfully unshared the course when you see the notification at the bottom of the screen.
🗒️: Users will not receive an email when a course is unshared with them. The course will disappear from their homepage “Shared by your organization” row and will still be available for the user to find and watch.
What happens if content is shared to a user by multiple admins?
Once a course is shared with a user they will get both an email notification and push notification. If the same course is shared by another admin, they will receive another notification.
What happens when content is shared with a user more than once?
A user will get multiple emails if content is shared with them more than once. If the course was assigned to the whole organization, no email will be sent.
